1. Basic steps
1. Stop and disconnect the power supply: Before making any adjustments, you must ensure that the crusher has been stopped and the power supply is disconnected to ensure safe operation.
2. Loosen the fastening bolts: Find and loosen the fastening bolts of the adjustment mechanism so that the movable jaw plate can move freely. This step is the prerequisite for adjusting the gap.
3. Adjust the gap:
Shim adjustment: It is more common in large jaw crushers. The spacing between the fixed jaw plate and the movable jaw plate is changed by increasing or decreasing the number of shims. The shim is located between the rear wall of the frame and the rear thrust plate bracket.
Wedge adjustment: It is more common in medium and small jaw crushers. The size of the discharge port is adjusted by the relative movement of the two wedges between the thrust plate support and the rear wall of the frame. When increasing the discharge particle size, the wedge is lowered by turning the nut, prompting the front wedge to move backward, thereby expanding the opening.
Hydraulic adjustment: The traditional manual adjustment is updated to a hydraulic adjustment rod to control the size of the discharge port. It is equipped with an electronic control system, and the discharge gap adjustment can be controlled by buttons, which saves time and effort, is convenient and fast.
4. Re-tighten the bolts: After adjusting the gap, it is necessary to re-tighten the bolts of the adjustment mechanism to ensure that the movable jaw plate does not move during the crushing process.
5. Trial run: Restart the crusher for trial run, observe the crushing effect and the operating status of the equipment, and ensure that the gap is adjusted correctly.
2. Precautions
1. Keep the equipment balanced: When adjusting the gap, it is necessary to pay attention to maintaining the overall balance of the equipment to avoid shaking and jittering of the equipment.
2. Precise adjustment: Each time the gap is adjusted, it should be done step by step to avoid excessive adjustment at one time. Especially when using the handwheel for fine-tuning, only 0.02-0.03mm of the gap can be fine-tuned each time.
3. Regular inspection and adjustment: After the equipment is used for a long time, the gap may change. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check and adjust the gap to ensure the normal operation and crushing effect of the equipment.
4. Safe operation: During the entire adjustment process, you must strictly abide by the safety operating procedures, wear protective equipment, and ensure personal safety.
5. Understand the nature of the material: Before adjusting the gap, you need to understand the nature and particle size requirements of the material in order to select the appropriate gap value.
